Serenity Lotion for Tension and Anxiety

Fibromyalgia has many symptoms, and having tensed muscles and high anxiety are two of them. Though tension is not my main symptom, anxiety is and it’s quite annoying. Getting some sort of relief would be nice, but there are limited natural treatments for tensed muscles and anxiety. Fay Farm Serenity CBD Lotion

The Fay Farm Serenity CBD Lotion is made with 200 mg of cannabidiol along with other natural ingredients (for details, scroll down to ‘Serenity Lotion Ingredients’). This lotion is targeted for individuals with high anxiety and stress – ME! The lotion is available in two sizes: two ounce bottle and 8 ounce bottle.

What is CBD oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a LEGAL cannabinoid compound found in cannabis, or marijuana as it is commonly called. It is not the compound that gets users high compared to the THC compound that is illegal. Because of the effects of CBD, it is a medical benefit and is vastly relied on for medicinal purposes.

According to the article Current Drug Safety by Dr. Seetal Dodd of the University of Melbourne in Australia, “cannabidiol, a major nonpsychotropic constituent of Cannabis, has multiple pharmacological actions, including anxiolytic, antipsychotic, antiemetic and anti-inflammatory properties”. Serenity Lotion Ingredients

The Fay Farm Serenity CBD Lotion has the following ingredients:

How to Use It

There are several ways to use this product. The website for The Fay Farm says to rub a little under the chin for relief or you can rub it on the bottoms of your feet then cover with socks. Personally, my husband or I rub it on both my shoulders and along my neck. This is where my tension resides, so that is my target area when I apply it.

Side Effects

As with anything you put into or on your body, there are side effects. But, relax! Side effects can be a good thing!

The side effects I have experienced with The Fay Farms Serenity CBD Lotion is relaxation. And softer skin, but mainly relaxation. The first time I used it, my husband rubbed it on my shoulders and neck in more of a massaging kind of way, and I could literally feel my muscles relaxing. It felt as though my muscles were melting into soft lumps. It was amazing! I fell asleep shortly after while sitting on the couch watching our favorite show. This continued to happen each time he rubbed the lotion on me. I sleep soundly the nights the lotion is applied whether my husband applies it or I do. It’s now part of my nightly routine.

How Does it Smell?

I love the smells of essential oils, so the smell of this lotion did not bother me. My husband said it has a sharp, almost citrus smell to it, but has grown accustomed to it over the weeks. Either way, it’s definitely not a medicinal smell as I expected it to have.

My Thoughts

Lowering my anxiety and stress has been successful over the last twelve months, but to say it is gone I would be lying to myself. It’s always right there on the cusp, and presenting itself in the form of tension in my neck and across my shoulders. This makes writing, cooking, typing or any activity involving my arms (read: everything) sore.

Natural treatments are my preference for my managing fibromyalgia, but are limited for certain symptoms such as tension. I’ve tried a heating wrap for relief, but it is temporary and in short bursts. This is where the benefit of CBD lotion can make a long-lasting relief and improve sleep. As this lotion is targeted for people with high anxiety and stress, I can say with confidence that this lotion was made for me. It has proven it over the last few weeks.
